This textbook offers new insights to understanding and managing logistics management, and provides a comprehensive overview of the intersection between strategic management perspectives, such as market positioning and dynamic capabilities, and logistics and supply chain management practices. - paradoxes
- supply chain resilience
- logistics-based business models
- circular supply chains

This informative text is supported by a range of features including chapter outlines, chapter summaries, as well as discussion and study questions at the end of each chapter, to aid development. There are also international real-world examples from companies such as Lidl, Apple and H&M.

About the authors

Erik Sandberg is a Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Linköping University, Sweden. He is also a part-time consultant, with experience from a variety of sectors, with an emphasis on fashion, textile and food. Clients he has worked with include Ericsson, PostNord and ECR Sweden.
  • This book will become a standard work for understanding how extremely important logistics management is to run a business, especially in times of hypercompetition in a complex market. Strategic Logistics Management's approach, starting with an understanding of logistics management and then transitioning into how to strategically put the theory into practice, makes the book a must-read for both company and retail management.
After reading the book, I can only agree with Erik about what he writes in the preface:
'In particular, it provides a comprehensive overview of the intersection between strategic management theory on the one hand and logistics and supply chain management practice on the other.'

  • Arne B Andersson, Senior E-Commerce Advisor, Swedish Trade (Svensk Handel), Sweden
